Distribution of the surname Cree in modern Canada

We are also informed that the frequency of the surname over the whole of Canada is 10.09 per million of the total population. This makes it a name of low frequency, bordering on rare according to the Guild of One-Name Studies benchmarks.

The main provinces where the Cree name is found are Quebec and BC. Even here the surname is probably rare. Cree is also present in Ontario and Manitoba but at even lower frequencies. A handful of Crees live in Alberta. [Probably just my first cousin Martin Cree and his family! - MS]
