  1. [S446] Family Search web site, www.familysearch.org, It was earlier supposed that Sarah was baptised on 31 Dec 1776, the daughter of Nathanael Hand and Mary Pacey. There is little evidence for this except that Mary was born at Flintham, which is only a few miles from Farndon, and there is no alternative record of her birth. Mary may well be a relative of a boatman Henry Pacey who was on the same boat as George Cree, a great-grandson of Joshua Cree, in the 1881 Census. See http://cree.name/archives/newark.pdf page 37. Joshua Cree's daughter Lucy Ann Cree had also married a William Pacey in 1837 and he too was baptised at Flintham (in 1815).

However in 2015 we discovered that the grave of Sarah's son Francis Cree and his wife Mary King was adjacenbt to that of Francis Hand who was baptised in 1776, a son of Francis and Mary Hand of Farndon. This couple are aguably more likely parents of Sarah Hand even though there is is no record of the relationship.
