Joseph Hooker Feltwell Joseph Hooker Feltwell apparently left his wife and children sometime after the birth of their youngest child in 1899 and moved to the state of Oregon. He settled in Yamhill County in the vicinity of the village of LaFayette. It is not known if he remarried in Oregon. His wife, Mary Gallaher Feltwell , was a trained musician and supported her family by teaching music for a number of years in schools in the Altoona area. She also owned and operated a small neighborhood store in the Lakemont section of Altoona. She and all of her children are buried in the Gallaher family plot in the New Washington Cemetery near LaJose, Clearfield County.
