Further, although Henry and Phebe were married in 1843, the tombstone of their daughter Mary states that Phebe was her mother.
He and Phebe appear in North Salem in all censuses up until their deaths. Henry died before mid-1880, as Phebe is enumerated in the 1880 Census as a widow living with her son Reuben. She died by 1883.1

His son George Cree was born c 1850.
In 1850 William Cree was living in Milan, Dutchess County, New York State, USA. The 1850 Census enumerates a William Creed, aged 22, working on the farm of a Travis family in Milan, Dutchess County, New York. As he is not otherwise found in that census, and the age is correct, this is probably the instant William Cree. If so, it
means he was probably married shortly after the census was taken, as his son was born c. 1850.1

Mary Rady was born c 1831.1
In 1850 Mary Rady was living in North Salem, New York State, USA. A Mary Rady, aged 19, is enumerated in the 1850 Census, living in the North Salem household of John Wallace along with Lewis Cree's brother John Leonard Cree. Although her place of birth is listed as Ireland, she is the right age to be Lewis' wife. Lewis' wife Mary's parents were born in Ireland, so some member of the Wallace family may have assumed that Mary was born there as well. It is probable that this was the same Mary Rady who eventually married Lewis Cree.
