From 1840 to 1870 Henry Rockwell and Phebe Ann Cree were living in North Salem, New York State, USA. The 1840 Census shows him living in North Salem with, among others, a female aged 20-30. Even though Phebe would have been only 17, this was probably her, as Henry's first wife had died in 1838. Further, although Henry and Phebe were married in 1843, the tombstone of their daughter Mary states that Phebe was her mother.

He and Phebe appear in North Salem in all censuses up until their deaths. Henry died before mid-1880, as Phebe is enumerated in the 1880 Census as a widow living with her son Reuben. She died by 1883.¹

Rockwell, married Laura A. Kirk; vi Leonard C. Rockwell, who married his cousin Anna Townsend.¹
