"To my wife Mary Cree all my household furniture plate linen glass and china. Everything else except ten shares in Bolsover Gas Company to sell and invest... and upon the decease of... Mary... I devise... Hill Top Pingle and the garden adjoining... And I bequeath my ten shares... unto my son Joseph Cree." The residue was to be sold and divided in four parts, one part to "the two children of my late daughter Fanny Lomax" and one part each to his daughters Ann Revill, Elizabeth Parkinson and Mary Cree. A codicil signed on 25 November 1881 changed the trustees to "my son-in-law Joseph Revill of Bolsover, Tailor and draper and my friend Riched Henry Thompson of Bolsover Butcher and Farmer."
