He told me that his ancestor changed his name from Cree to Creed and that he is from the Topsfield, Massachusetts, Cree family. Sure enough, he is absolutely right. Thomas Gleason Cree, most likely a son of Stephen Cree and Hannah Smith, changed his surname to Creed, probably in the 1840's. His children did as well, and sons Ivers and Moses both had issue. Donald is a male descendant of the Topsfield Cree family..."
