Thomas and Margaret were great-grandparents of correspondent Peter Martin. He mentions his gran Mary Cree having died in 1967. He also wote, "The marriage was conducted in the Presbyterian Church of Scotland format although Margaret was Roman Catholic. For what ever reason, all the siblings of the union were Roman Catholic and all subsequent lines have remained so." This may account for the existence of a second marriage record later in the month, which was quite common in Scotland. It could be that the later marriage was a Roman Catholic ceremony.4

    [On appeal] the Tribunal concludes that the veteran’s death was caused by or contributed to by service-related hypertension and ischaemic heart disease... the Tribunal finds that the conditions of hypertension and ischaemic heart disease of the veteran from which the veteran died were caused or contributed to by the veteran’s operational service in the Australian Army and are therefore war-caused with effect from 12 June 2003;.
