Margaret McCluskie was also known as Margaret McLusky. She was born in 1833 in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, Scotland.1,2

Her daughter Alice Cree was born in 1852 or 1853.3

Margaret McCluskie married Thomas Cree, son of Archibald Crie and Mary Calderwood, on 3 April 1852 in Low Church, Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, Scotland. Thomas and Margaret were great-grandparents of correspondent Peter Martin. He mentions his gran Mary Cree having died in 1967. He also wote, "The marriage was conducted in the Presbyterian Church of Scotland format although Margaret was Roman Catholic. For what ever reason, all the siblings of the union were Roman Catholic and all subsequent lines have remained so." This may account for the existence of a second marriage record later in the month, which was quite common in Scotland. It could be that the later marriage was a Roman Catholic ceremony.4

Margaret McCluskie married Thomas Cree, son of Archibald Crie and Mary Calderwood, on 23 April 1852 in Riccarton, Ayrshire, Scotland. They also married at the Low Church, Kilmarnock.5,6
