Occasional news items were published on this web site as "Latest News." These have been collated as Series 2. The current series is again called CREE NEWS and issues are listed under Recent Issues.

WARNING! Please be aware that much of what was written in Cree News was speculative; theories were advanced about the origins of our surname, hypotheses were suggested about our genealogies. Many of these were subsequently verified: some of the theories and hypotheses were shown to be incorrect. That's how knowledge advances. I am writing some Notes to accompany these on-line archives of Cree News, in which I aim to point out at least the most glaring errors and also to show how our knowledge developed.

For the latest information about genealogies, please check in the Cree Genealogy Database. Here you will find the most up-to-date information that we have at any time. That is not to say that it is 100% correct. The truth is always a little bit further on from where we are at any time. That's what drives us on to continue the research.
