I have revised this proposal following discussions with several individual members and also on the Guild Forum and on a Guild Hangout that took place on 31st July 2014 on the subject of Digitally Preserving Studies. My proposal

• is the subject of a specific proposal to the Guild;
• is for a scheme that I believe is achievable at little or no cost to Guild and which ought to be at least the subject of a feasibility study; and
• is simple in concept and simple to set up and maintain, both for members and the Guild.

I have therefore firmed up the proposal and hope that this more formal version avoids some of the misunderstandings that have arisen around the wording of the original. [Document now removed.]

This proposal has been further revised through a number of versions through email discussions with a small group of six members. It has now been submitted to the web team for discussion. It can be downloaded as a PDF file entitled Guild-hosted web sites and preservation of registered study web sites - revised proposal. Previous versions are deleted.
