The citation reads, "Sergeant Cree is a cool, confident and efficient air gunner, whose example in the face of the enemy has been most praiseworthy. He has taken part in a large number of sorties, involving attacks on strongly defended targets in Germany and throughout has displayed great determination and unfailing devotion to duty."5
