Archibald Cree was born on 5 March 1881 in Lisburn, County Antrim, Ireland.1 He was the son of William Cree and Mary McGregor. Archibald Cree was in the 2nd Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers during the Second Boer War. between 1899 and 1902 in South Africa. Regimental No. 6505.2

These two Cree men both married Davidson women in 1913 in St Anne's Church of Ireland, Belfast. The NI Births Index shows that ten children were born to Cree fathers and Davidson mothers from 1913 to 1928. All were girls! It is not possible (without purchasing their birth certificates) to sort out which children belonged to which couple, except that Hannah Jane Cree may be presumed to be the daughter of Robert Hugh Cree because his mother was Hannah Jane McQuoid.1

Archibald Cree married Margaret  Davidson, daughter of John Davidson, on 22 January 1913 in Saint Annes Church of Ireland, Shankill, Belfast, County Antrim, Ireland. The witnesses were David Alexander ThompsArchibald Cree was a "plater's helper" aged 30. Margaret  Davidson was 26. Both were unmarried and of 3 Dale Sreet, Belfast. on and Margaret Thompson.1,3

On 9 July 1913 Archibald Cree and Margaret  Davidson were living in 3 Dale Street, Belfast, Ireland.4

His father William Cree died on 3 September 1913 in 51 Lisburn Road, Belfast, County Antrim, Ireland.5,6 Archibald Cree was a sergeant in the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers between 1914 and 1918. Regimental No. 6505, 1212.7

His mother Mary McGregor died on 8 October 1922 in White Spots, Newtownards, County Down, Ireland.8

In January 1969 Archibald Cree was living in 42 Bristol Street, Belfast, Ireland.9

Archibald Cree died on 6 January 1969 in Belfast, Ireland.10 He was buried on 8 January 1969 in City Cemetery - Glenalina Extension Grave section and number A1 32, Belfast, Ireland.9

George Cree was born between 1849 and 1851 in Hill Hall townland, Drumbeg, County Antrim, Ireland. (His date of birth was critical to his claim for an old age pension but the evidence is inconsistent.)1,2,3 He was the son of William Cree and Jane Willis.

George Cree married Jane Cree, daughter of Andrew Cree Jr and Jane McGimpsey, on 2 November 1869 in Ballygilbert Presbyterian Church, Bangor, County Down, Ireland. They were first cousins once removed, George's grandfather William Cree being a brother of Jane's father Andrew Cree Jr. George was of full age (over 21) and Jane was a minor (under 21). His father William was a weaver and her father, Andrew Cree, a farmer.4,5

On 2 November 1869 George Cree was living in Knockbreda, Holywood, County Antrim, Ireland. Subsequently George and Jane moved around and had a different address at the birth of almost every one of their children: thus they lived at Ballykeel in 1871, Ballymiscaw in 1873, Castlereagh 1875, Redburn in 1876, Belfast Rd, Holywood in 1878 until at least 1886. I guess shepherding was like that.6,7

His daughter Elizabeth Cree was born on 31 May 1870 in Newtownards Reg Dist, County Down, Ireland.8,9

His son William Cree was born on 6 October 1871 in Ballykeel, Holywood, County Down, Ireland.10,4

His daughter Margaret Cree was born on 24 March 1873 in Ballymiscaw, Dundonald, County Down, Ireland.4,10

His son Andrew Cree was born on 16 June 1875 in Belfast, County Antrim, Ireland.4,11

His daughter Margaret Cree died on 13 July 1875 in Belfast, County Antrim.12

His son George Frederick Valentine Cree was born on 30 August 1876 in Redburn House, Holywood, County Down, Ireland.4

His son John Carsewell Cree was born on 8 June 1878 in Belfast Road, Holywood, County Down, Ireland.4,10 George Cree was a witness at the marriage of John Carswell and Jane McGimpsey on 15 May 1879 in Church of Ireland; Since the bride gave her name as Jane McGimpsey, rather than Jane Cree) this may be a diffent person. However she stated that she was a widow and daughter of James McGimpsey which suggests she was marrying under her maiden name, so it seems likely that she was the same Jane.13

His father William Cree died on 17 July 1880 in Lisburn, County Antrim, Ireland.14

His son David Henry Logan Cree was born on 21 March 1881 in Belfast Road, Holywood, County Down.10,4,15

His son Samuel Cree was born on 6 April 1889 in County Antrim, Ireland.15,4

His son Arthur Cree was born on 26 May 1891 in Lisburn, County Antrim.4,15

His mother Jane Willis died on 16 June 1893 in Lisburn, County Antrim.17

George Cree was a yardman on 19 July 1897.18

On 31 March 1901 George Cree and Jane Cree were living in 5 Ballycullo, Malone, County Down, Ireland, along with David Henry Logan Cree, Robert James Cree, Margaret Jane Cree, Samuel Cree and Arthur Cree. George was a labourer aged 50. His son David was a shoemaker aged 16. Robert was a labourer aged 16.15

On 2 April 1911 George Cree and Jane Cree were living in 3 Ballycullo, Malone, County Antrim, Ireland, along with Margaret Jane Cree and Arthur Cree. George was a farm servant aged 61 and could read but not write. Jane was aged 60. Margaret was a dressmaker aged 24. Arthur was 19 and a tenter. It was recorded that George and Jane had had eleven children of whom ten were still alive. George signed the census return with his "mark" - an X - witnessed by the enumerator.19

His son Robert James Cree died on 25 August 1911 in Belfast, County Antrim.20

His son Arthur Cree died on 20 April 1914 in Lisburn, County Antrim.21

His son Andrew Cree died on 6 September 1915 in Lisburn, County Antrim.22

On 29 December 1919 George Cree claimed an old age pension on the basis that he was over 70.1

In the 1920s George Cree was living in at the foot of Black Mountain, Belfast, County Antrim, Northern Ireland.23

His son William Cree died on 28 January 1932 in Belfast, County Antrim.24

George Cree died on 2 October 1932 in Lisburn, County Antrim.25
